Alan Hamilton focuses his law practice on significant personal injury cases, wrongful death, and business torts. Alan has helped numerous clients obtain seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements during his career. He has represented individuals and appeared before courts in ten different states. Jeff Shiver practices serious personal injury cases of all types. For over a decade before co-founding Shiver Hamilton, Jeff trained under some of the state’s best trial attorneys. From the moment he decided to become a lawyer, Jeff knew he wanted to become a personal injury specialist and carefully tailored his education and professional experience to learn how to effectively represent plaintiffs.
Brandon Smith focuses his practice on wrongful death, premises liability/negligent security, product defects, and trucking and motor vehicle litigation in both state and federal court. Motivated by a passion to serve those in dire circumstances, Brandon worked with city and state leaders to establish the first Homeless Court in South Carolina, founded in Columbia, SC.
Daniel Beer focuses his law practice on wrongful death and significant personal injury cases, business torts and select construction litigation. Daniel applies his knowledge of the inner workings of insurance companies’ claims and extensive experience with complex trial tactic that he gained in the beginning of his career to his work representing victims of crime, negligence and corporate wrongdoing.
Prior to joining Shiver Hamilton in 2017, Maggy began her legal career as a judicial clerk to Thomas W. Thrash, Jr., the Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Following the completion of her clerkship, she worked to defend a corporation facing multiple individual products liability suits as the result of a decertified class action.
Scott Campbell joined Shiver Hamilton in 2013 to help represent individuals in Georgia who needed a strong trial attorney and advocacy in rough, uncertain times. He was made partner in 2015. Scott has been recognized as one of the top young lawyers in Georgia and named a Georgia Rising Star by Atlanta Magazine and the Super Lawyers publication. Scott has also been identified as among Georgia’s Legal Elite by Georgia Trend Magazine.
She spent the next sixteen years in a highly regarded plaintiffs’ personal injury law firm, where her practice focused exclusively on representing individuals and their families in a wide variety of serious personal injury and wrongful death matters. Marla has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by Atlanta Magazine and holds an “AV-Preeminent” peer-review rating from Martindale Hubbell Lexis-Nexis.
Darrell has more than 24 years of experience in personal injury and insurance law. His legal background includes working for over a decade in the Atlanta office of a leading Florida plaintiff’s firm, where he focused on insurance bad faith and catastrophic personal injury cases in Georgia and Florida. Before changing the focus of his practice to representing plaintiffs, Darrell served as a corporate claims attorney for one of the nation’s largest property and casualty insurance companies, where he managed litigation throughout Georgia involving catastrophic injuries, wrongful death and punitive damages.

During the first four years of his legal career, Daniel worked for a nationally regarded trial firm defending apartment and property owners, management companies, trucking companies, product manufacturers and the world’s largest insurance company. Daniel also served as the national coordinating counsel for the world’s largest commercial real estate special servicer.
Prior to entering law school, Daniel worked in the Georgia state legislature with the House of Representatives judiciary committees and the governor’s legislative affairs committee.
Daniel’s wife, Dr. Gina Marguriet Beer, is a veterinarian, who works at Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic in Vinings, Georgia. Gina and Daniel live in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta with their two children.
