The personal injury attorneys at Shiver Hamilton are firm believers in community involvement and treating others with respect. Last year, we held a scholarship contest called the Random Acts of Kindness Scholarship. Below are the winners
My family and I live in small but growing Lebanon, Oregon. I received my Bachelor of Science from Corban University in Salem, Oregon. While attending school I also played for the collegiate women’s soccer team. Currently, I am pursing a doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
Helping others thrive in their everyday lives by accomplishing the simple tasks that they do each day is one of my passions and reasons why I am pursuing the career as a therapist. To be educated to the best of my ability as an occupational therapist requires an extensive amount of school, and the price on this degree remains quite high. The scholarship from Shiver Hamilton will allow me to help others reach their goals in therapy while also giving me some breathing room in my educational costs.
I grew up in Rochester, Minnesota and I’m now a freshman at Drexel University in Philadelphia. I’m studying health sciences and plan to go to grad school and become a Physician Assistant.
Receiving the Shiver Hamilton Random Acts of Kindness Scholarship is an honor. As I watched my sister battle, and eventually succumb to brain cancer, it was the kindness of others that helped me get through the toughest days. I was inspired by the medical professionals we met along the cancer journey and I hope to one day be a Physician Assistant and help others they way so many people helped me and my family. Thank you for your help in supporting my education as I work towards my goal of becoming a PA.
My name is Madeline Elliott and I live in Chapman, Kansas with my parents and younger brother. I am a senior at Chapman High School, where I’m involved in various activities and sports. I spend most of my time as the Student Council President or participating in Cross Country, Track, Dance Team, Future Business Leaders of America, Forensics, and Scholar’s Bowl to name a few. I will be attending the University of Kansas to major in Advertising/Public Relations and Sports Marketing, as well as being on the Pre-Law track.
I am ecstatic about winning the Random Acts of Kindness Scholarship. It’s a wonderful program that just goes to show that doing one nice thing can mean the world in multiple ways. This scholarship will take a big financial burden off of my shoulders, something I am forever grateful for. I am so proud to be the winner and hope I can represent the team behind it with justice next year.
